AECB Milton Keynes Group Discuss the AECB Silver Standard for Large Scale Projects

AECB Milton Keynes Group Meeting

This first meeting of the year was both interesting and useful. Alan Budden spoke on the AECB silver standard for large scale projects. It was a practical talk focusing on the recently completed 63-unit scheme at Green Street Nottingham and discussion focused around how to improve implementation and the need for improved knowledge on site around airtightness strategies. There was already a high level of understanding within the group about the standard so it was useful to be able to pick over the project in such detail,

There was general agreement that this is a great standard to be able to work with developers on to improve the comfort, performance and standard of new homes.  There was a concern that an airtightness of 1.5 might be too challenging for large scale developers, therefore putting them off adopting the standard. This successful evening was rounded off with a couple of drinks.
