The AECB Oxford Group Meet at The National Self Build and Renovation Centre

New AECB Group Leader for Oxford Arranges First Meeting for Members and Non Members

We are delighted to welcome Paul Williamson as the new Group Leader for the Oxford and surrounding areas.

Last Monday the group held its first meeting at The National Self Build and Renovation Centre in Swindon. Paul Williamson, both the regional chair and a director of Beattie Passive, along with Lee Broomhall, their Business Development Manager welcomed AECB members and guests with a presentation on Passivhaus and Beattie Passive’s build system. The presentation stimulated many questions and comments, not just to Paul and Lee but also between those present. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity to discuss Passivhaus and Beattie Passive.

Paul and Lee arranged for Mike Harding of the NSBRC to give an informed talk and walk through the centre’s Educational  Journey, showing different foundations, cladding, build systems and heating/plumbing options on display.

Following interesting talks and discussions, attendees were offered the chance to wander around the centre’s Trade Village, where there are many eco and Passivhaus exhibitors. The centre is normally closed to visitors on a Monday, so the group were able to browse in peace!

This first meeting was very well received and it is planned to follow it up with a visit to a “live” Passivhaus site in the coming months – watch this space!

Both members and non members are welcome to attend AECB Local Group activities which are advertised in our Network Newsletter, sign up to receive this here.
