Mid-Century Modern Passivhaus, designed by Architect, Richard Maddock of Kay Elliot Architects, Torquay, for his own home. External finishes are lime render & cedar cladding with windows/doors by Katzbeck. Completed January 2017
Bespoke new build Passivhaus, nett floor area 300 sq/m on a sloping site & includes a fully tanked reinforced concrete basement containing 3 no guest bedrooms/bathrooms . This is the most complex Passivhaus we have built to-date & demonstrates air-tightness can be achieved on more challenging house forms (0.35ach). External finishes a mixture of lime render & western red cedar with a natural slate & EPDM Sedum roofing. Hot Water is provided via an 8.5kw Ecodan air source heat pump complete with a 300 litre Cylinder. We have an 8.4 kWp solar PV array combined with a Tesla Powerwall 2 13.5 kW battery system.
Work in Progress, new build Passivhaus, nett floor area 205 sq/m. Initial airtightness test result 0.20 ach. External finishes a mixture of lime render & secoya timber cladding with natural zinc roofing. Anticipated Completion date August 2020 (subject to COVID19 restrictions)
