Long time AECB member and sustainable builder, Richard Tibbles, has kindly invited us to visit his retrofit and extension project at his home in Freshford. This project has multiple aspects, as follows:
– Super-insulated, timber frame extension
– Concrete-free foundations and ground floor to extension
– Retrofit insulation to original cottage, including internal wall insulation and airtightness
– Replacement triple glazed windows to original cottage

The extension structure and insulation are complete, but not finished so still visible. The retrofit works are just starting, so there will be a sample panel of the proposed insulation and airtightness visible on the day.

There will be a short presentation on the design and build process, after which there will be an opportunity to take a tour of the building and ask questions.
