Go to Forum Home › Building Refurbishment and Retrofit › Deep retrofit benchmark costs
Hi everyone
Does anybody have any good suggestions for resources that can help me to build a better picture of deep retrofit capital costs in the Midlands? I tend to find most resources are either out of date, highly optimistic, or not ambitious enough. Is this a topic covered in the CarbonLite Retrofit Course?
My instinct tells me that £2000/m2 is probably not a bad starting point, which of course then begs the question, how are we ever supposed to convince more sceptical clients that retrofitting is in their best interests when they have to spend another 20% on top of that to cover the VAT bill.
I appreciate any questions relating to building costs are all but impossible to answer in the present climate, but any pointers will be very gratefully received.
Thanks
David.
