This is work in progress and I have given a copy to Jeurgen Schneiders at PHI.
A few issues arising:
1. hot water losses are calculated in PHPP so it would make sense to make these more visible to influence design.
2. the resultant gains should be considered in terms of overheating and, IMHO, heating.
3. currently cold water is assumed to cause a significant heat loss (see short paper) but my crude experiments question the magitude.
4. DHW IHGs are more significant for small buildings even if minimised (I'm not proposing un-insulated runs to heat the building. Paradoxically very small buildings struggle to meet 15kWh/m2 in German and probably UK climate yet in practice are more likley to be near zero heat since the gains are higher/m2.
