      Hi everyone,

I am detailing the external walls and insulation for an extension to a retrofit project.  The extension will be constructed from 145 mm timber kit, infilled with insulation (Celotex), OSB board either side.  I want to add 150 mm EPS insulation externally and finish with render and timber cladding.  My intention is to leave a 25 mm cavity under the timber cladding & render base board but the installers i have spoken with want to put a cavity between the insulation and the kit with a vented cavity.  I don`t really want to vent between the insulation layers as this will remove the effectiveness of the external insulation.  The property will be airtight and fitted with MVHR.  Many thanks Angela
