Field Green Design, Manchester
Greg says: “Field Green Design is a CIAT Registered Architectural Practice specialising in delivering bespoke residential dwellings whilst embracing sustainable solutions. The practice offers a wide range of services, from Architectural Design & Working Drawings, to Contract Administration & Project Co-ordination; implementing a personalised service tailored to each project. We have joined AECB to open up our network and connect with likeminded companies who share a similar focus.”
Richard Gambold, Pembrokeshire
Richard says: “I initially became interested in PassivHaus development whilst investigating options for a self build project on a plot of land I had purchased in Pembrokeshire. In 2015 I contacted a local architect who is an AECB member. I worked closely with him and developed a contemporary PassivHaus scheme for the proposed dwelling. This initial scheme was not received well by some members of the local community and was refused planning permission. My subsequent appeal was also dismissed. A revised scheme has now been approved for the new dwelling which is named “Yn y Bryn”, Welsh for “in the hill”, as the lower basement level and part of the middle storey are built into the steeply sloping hillside. I expect to start construction in Q1 2017 and intend to carry out PassivHaus certification of the completed dwelling.“
Arianna Granziera, Kent
Arianna says: “We recently bought a 1950s three bedroom ex-council house and are planning to eco renovate it with particular attention to natural materials, healthy living, waste reduction and energy efficiency. We are currently putting together a team to work on it. I joined the aecb to tap into the association’s knowledge and expertise on the subject and be inspired by like-minded people.”
