Stokey Energy – Help celebrate local initiative to install solar panels on Stoke Newington School

As part of a local effort to do their bit to tackle the climate emergency, a few friends got together and set up a community benefit society to support local carbon initiatives in their local area of Hackney and Stoke Newington, London.

Stokey Energy (www.stokeyenergy.org) is a community benefit society helping local people to fit solar panels, green their homes to make them more energy efficient and provide advice on how to take action. All the members are supporting the Society on a voluntary basis.

So far, they have raised nearly £70k and installed solar panels on Stoke Newington School and helped other community initiatives and individuals.

They have organised an event for Hackney residents on the 20th Oct at the Mildmay Club and would love to see as many people as possible. If you are local and want to find out more, please come along by registering at the Eventbrite link below.
