Trying to understand Embodied Carbon in a meaningful way

Tim Martel, Embodied CO2 Specialist

The AECB will be holding a members only webinar on Thursday the 8th of December at 12.00-13.00. There will be a discussion panel in which four expert speakers tackle the subject of how the design, construction and building materials industry can improve the way it presents embodied carbon. There is a risk of promoting unsustainable ways of designing and constructing ‘low carbon’ buildings as a result. There are calculations available which are not definitive quantifications of carbon but are the most accurate means (currently) to compare different options or different buildings and make choices that reduce our carbon impact.  The speakers will consider how best to understand Embodied Carbon with some the methods currently available.

Speakers: John Butler Sustainable Building Consultancy, Tim Martel Embodied CO2 Specialist, Andy Simmonds AECB CEO, Jeff Coley Editor/Publisher Passive House Plus Magazine.

All our webinars allow 15-20 minutes for Q&A at the end of the presentation and will be hosted by AECB experts.
