The Tai ar y Cyd project is a unique collaboration between social landlords, government, and industry experts, dedicated to tackling housing challenges in Wales. This project brings together 23 social landlords who share a vision of delivering affordable, high-quality homes for future generations. These homes are designed to meet the highest standards of low-carbon performance, guided by a standardised pattern book. The pattern book sets out 15 house typologies across two building performance standards, which draw from AECB CarbonLite and Passivhaus Classic.A huge congratulations to all involved in this pioneering project – it is an exemplar to all of the UK of how new build can meet net zero targets – their vision and hard work in producing this project is inspirational. The AECB is delighted to have our New Build standard adopted in Wales and to be included in the Pattern Book. We wholly endorse the project and are poised to support further development in any way we can.Find out more here
