Glenaire Retrofit: Comprehensive Conservation Area Retrofit

FiveRise Contractors and HEM Architects warmly invite AECB members to their live site Glenaire Retrofit in Huddersfield.
This is a deep retrofit of a 1970’s dormer bungalow in the Ederton Conservation Area of Huddersfield.

This will be great opportunity to learn what is possible within a Conservation Area and how the works were negotiated with the planners.

The project scope includes:

Structural works: new blockwork walls, LVL Steico purlins and beams, using timber structural materials instead of steels.
Airtightness measures: parge coat to masonry, membranes and Durelis Vapour block airtightness boards
Insulation upgrades to all elements: suspended timber ground floor, roof and external walls
External Wall Insualtion: wood fibre boards
Triple glazed windows and doors: triple glazing from 21 Degrees
Services: new plumbing and rewire of electrics
Heating and hot water: Air Source Heat Pump
Access: new ramped access
