Welcome to Cheshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire Group

The Cheshire, Shropshire & Staffordshire group is being established so we can share what we are all doing across this wide area. One of our first tasks will be to see how we can bring together anyone that would like to design, build and live in healthy and environmentally conscious buildings. The intention is that some meetings will be held as day-time webinars, and others will be in various locations in the 3 counties to share experiences of live projects and designs.

The exact way this will work is in your hands! What would you want the group to do for you, and how can you help us do it? Ideas and suggestions for the group are very welcome, contact the group leader below.

Hi, I’m David Sharpe. Coming from a background of structural engineering, I have been interested in how low carbon design can work in building design for a number of years. I am a Chartered Structural Engineer since 2001, and a Certified Passivhaus Designer from 2013 to 2018. Between 2015 and 2018 I had a stint in academia as a Lecturer at the Birmingham School of Architecture and Design at Birmingham City University. I am now back in practice with Clancy Consulting in Birmingham, commuting in on the train. I have also been learning some site carpentry skills with a City and Guilds course at Shrewsbury College.  I live in North Shropshire, and would like to help members in the area to see what we can share – knowledge, experience, and our ongoing work on real buildings.
