As part of a long term commitment to environmentally sustainable and efficient construction methods, we have developed our unique Naturally Insulated Precut Panels (NIPPs) Our Hundegger machine cuts and labels Steico I joists and LVL to produce a flatpack timber frame which has a breathable outer racking board and an airtight board inside. The structural frame is filled with Steico blown wood fibre or wood fibre batts to ensure that the frame has a low environmental impact, provides high thermal efficiency and is airtight ( using Siga tapes). By providing training to local tradesmen on site together with assembly drawings and the precision cutting and labelling of the timber the construction process is accelerated thereby reducing labour costs. The panels can be designed either as a structural product (load bearing), as a tea cosy system or just an insulation carrier (Cassette/ caisson), all providing a high level of insulation up to passive house standard.
