Bio

I can help you avoid the condensation, mould and structural damage that poorly designed retrofit can cause in pre-1919 houses - so you can make your home comfortable without expensive remediation later. I combine Passivhaus methodology with heritage conservation expertise to design phased improvements that respect listed building constraints while achieving dramatic comfort gains. I have an MSc in historic conservation and spent several years as the property manager of a Grade I-listed building, which means I understand both the building physics needed to avoid moisture problems and the heritage constraints that period properties face. My approach starts with comfort, with carbon savings achieved as a happy by-product. I use PHPP modelling and thermal bridge analysis to identify pragmatic improvements that make the biggest difference to how your house feels - warmer rooms, no more draughts, lower bills- while avoiding the moisture problems that damage old buildings. My services include PHPP energy modelling for pre-1919 solid wall construction, thermal bridge analysis, moisture-robust retrofit strategies that avoid condensation and mould, conservation-led design for listed and unlisted period properties, and phased improvement plans that fit your budget and timeline.
