Our Expertise: Building Fabric Consultancy At Ecosophy Studio, our name is a testament to our commitment to environmental sustainability. Derived from 'Eco', a nod to the ancient Greek word "Οίκος" (Ecos), meaning home, and 'Σοφία' (Sophia), symbolising deep knowledge or wisdom, our consultancy embodies the union of ecological awareness and sophisticated building science. Beyond Compliance: Better Building Performance While regulatory compliance is a common driver for hygrothermal modelling and thermal bridge modelling, our approach goes beyond minimum standards. Our goal is to optimise building performance holistically, by integrating modelling outcomes and our Passive House expertise into broader conversations about fabric efficiency, airtightness, hygrothermal risk, and occupant health. We work closely with your design or technical team to interpret results and improve outcomes - not just to tick boxes, but to build better buildings. We leverage state-of-the-art software to simulate the long-term hygrothermal performance of building assemblies and construction details under varying conditions. This enables us to deliver high-quality, project-specific assessments and guidance on moisture-related risks to architectural firms, energy consultants, and construction companies - both large and small. We also support manufacturers and suppliers bringing innovative products and building systems to market. Through in-depth hygrothermal risk analysis, including comprehensive parametric studies, we evaluate performance across different climates, structures, and conditions - helping ensure successful product integration and long-term reliability. As certified Passivhaus consultants, we foster close collaboration between engineering and architectural teams in both new-build and retrofit projects. Our goal is to strike a balance between energy efficiency, material durability, occupant comfort, and carbon reduction - paving the way toward a Passive House or EnerPHit certification.

Konstantinos Megagiannis

I work with design teams and clients to deliver buildings that perform as designed, not just in theory but in practice. My role sits at the interface of energy modelling, building physics and construction, helping to turn performance targets into buildable, low-risk technical solutions. A core specialism of my work is moisture risk assessment and hygrothermal analysis which provides me with knowledge and tools that I utilise in every AECB project. As construction becomes more airtight and highly insulated, robust moisture management becomes critical not only to the long-term durability of the building fabric but also the health of the occupants.

Hygrothermal Performance Assessments with WUFI®

In the evolving landscape of high-performance building design, understanding the movement of moisture and heat through building envelopes is critical to ensuring long-term durability, comfort, and compliance. At Ecosophy Studio, we offer advanced hygrothermal performance assessments using industry-leading WUFI® software, enabling our clients to evaluate the performance of walls, roofs, and complex building elements under realistic, climate-dependent conditions. Our service is designed for architects, retrofit designers, manufacturers, and developers seeking robust insights into interstitial condensation, mould growth, drying potential, and the compatibility of construction build-ups with both energy and moisture management goals. All our work is rooted in UK and international best practices, ensuring technical rigour and regulatory relevance.
