Studio Partington

Bio

Studio Partington is a multi-award winning architectural practice with over 20 years experience in designing and delivering buildings in a broad range of fields.  Our extensive portfolio includes: masterplanning; estate regeneration; urban design; building research and guidance writing; low-energy homes; refurbishment and conversion; mixed-use developments; work spaces and retail units; educational facilities; and public and community buildings. We work for local authorities housing associations and private developers and try to cultivate long-term associations that lead to repeat commissions and good working relationships. Many of our projects have been at the forefront of sustainable design but we are particularly interested in making homes that run economically and simply to be comfortable welcoming and secure. To this end passive design (concentrating first on the fabric) and intuitive technology must be coupled with other measures to moderate a changing climate. We are currently working with local authorities on existing estates in both large-scale regeneration and extremely thorough retro-fit with ‘assured performance’ to the Energiesprong standard.  We are also working for Housing Associations on a number of medium-sized schemes designed to meet Passivhaus standards. We provide full architectural services from initial feasibility and high level capacity studies right through to the delivery of high quality buildings and subsequent post-occupancy monitoring. This approach leads to environments that are well-considered carefully detailed and thoughtfully put together strengthening communities and minimising environmental impact.
