Scope: To provide a suitable solution for a small vacant area of difficult brownfield land within the conservation area of St. Andrews. Services: Architectural Design Planning & Building Standards Contract Administration etc. Aims: The aim of the project was to provide a suitable dommestic development solution for the site. This involved the reinstatement of the previously collapsed stone harbour wall forming a boundary to the site. The incorporation of a suitable solution for the issues relating to ground contamination and the sub surface remains of the old town gas installation. Resulting in the design and construction of 3No attractive high quality 3 storey very Low Energy Town Houses. Measures incorporated: Highly insulated breathable envelope using predominantly natural sustainable materials. High level of attention to airtightness detailing. Whole house ventilation and heat recovery systems. Nordan Ntec Passiv Windows.
