Bio

I am a fully qualified architect running my own practice since 2015. Projects include temporary structures for festivals and immersive art installations a large new build eco house in the shell of 2 agricultural barns eco-refurbishment of a victorian terrace and small side return extensions to victorian terraces in Bristol my home town. I am passionate about sustainability having worked at the Centre for Alternative Technology where I learnt first hand eco building skills and having worked as a junior architect for ZEDfactory architects for 4 years where I learnt more detail about zero energy architecture. I love working with natural materials low impact construction processes and reducing construction waste as far as possible.

Low energy barn conversion

I worked closely with a family of self builders to design their low energy Barn conversion (still in construction). The design incorporates passive house level U-values to ensure a low heating deamand high spec triple glazing large south facing glazing for winter heat gains high thermal mass walls and floors low embodied energy materials (timber frames wood fibre insulation) and renewable technologies (4kW PV solar array air source heat pumps wet underfloor heating mechanical heat recovery ventilation). The building will be clad in Douglas Fir timber to match local vernacular.
