Post: AECB/PHT South and West Wales Local Group event at Cardiff Metropolitan

AECB Membership Officer, Samantha Musty was pleased to attend the second meeting of the AECB/PHT South and West Wales Local Group event at Cardiff Metropolitan University last week.  Thanks to the great efforts of the Group Leader Jonathan Davies, we enjoyed an interesting set of presentations from Spring Designs on the benefits of the AECB CarbonLite Standards, Tabitha Binding on the Passive House Trust, and Steve Cranston from the Welsh Government housing project Tai ar y Cyd. 

The audience of students, lecturers, business owners and technologists was also treated to an introduction to the AECB CarbonLite Standards and Training Courses by Samantha who impressed on those present the need to be “Carbon Literate” in their approaches to building projects.

A lively discussion followed the presentations with the students keen to engage with practitioners and plans have been made to attend the forthcoming Passive House Open Days.  Thanks to Cardiff Met for hosting the event and inviting Jonathan to give a lecture as part of this year’s Architecture course.
