As you may know the AECB is a public directory, the most established and successful of our kind in the UK with over 2,000 members. This makes us a target for spammers, who unfortunately try to use our freely available directory to exploit our strong reputation for their own means. Recently we have been made aware of another such spam campaign, and we wanted to update you all regarding our security mechanisms and how we ensure the protection of your data.
What are the AECB doing to secure my data?
The AECB website employs multiple layers of security and GDPR controls to protect member data. We combine two world class security systems, WordFence and CloudFlare, providing a comprehensive security suite which monitors and blocks threats in real time, and filters malicious traffic before it ever reaches the site. Spambots are actively blocked, and all private areas are secured with strong passwords and two-factor authentication to prevent unauthorised access. The site is maintained and monitored by a professional IT security company, and all software is kept fully updated to minimise the risk of zero-day vulnerabilities. These measures ensure robust protection and GDPR compliance for our members’ information.
What should I do if I receive an email from the AECB?
Our emails will only be sent from authorised aecb.net email addresses, and we will never ask for your personal details via email. Any downloads or purchases are processed through our secure website.
If you receive a suspicious email:
❌ DO NOT click on any links in the email

✅ DO forward the email to our team [email protected] to check if it is legitimate. We are always grateful for information that can help warn and protect our members.
