We’re delighted to share some important news about the AECB’s leadership.
We’ve appointed Ste Garlick as Chief Executive Officer and Chris Iredale as Chief Operating Officer, introducing a new dual fractional leadership model designed to keep both leaders actively engaged in professional practice while leading the organisation on your behalf.
Ste joins the AECB from BDP, where he leads strategic and advisory work on decarbonisation and retrofit. He brings deep technical expertise alongside a genuine passion for collaborative, evidence-based building performance — exactly the ethos the AECB has championed for nearly 40 years.
Chris brings more than 25 years’ experience building and scaling businesses, including senior operational leadership across manufacturing, construction and professional services. He continues to run his own fractional growth partner practice, Thriven, alongside his role with us, and will lead the AECB’s operational development, governance and organisational growth.
Together, Ste and Chris are focused on strengthening collaboration across our growing membership, building on our evidence-based approach to building performance, and extending our influence across the wider built environment.
