After a year-long process, the team at White Haus are proud to announce the completion of 67 brand new lodges, five treehouses, and one massive retreat building for the new Forest Holidays Delamere Site, Delamere Forest Log Cabin Holidays & Breaks.
It has been a long project but an incredibly rewarding year to watch these buildings come together, combining beautiful natural elements to make the units and treehouses just as stunning inside as the environment is outside.
Timber frame holiday lodges
From our HQ in Cambridgeshire, White Haus designed and manufactured all kits, including the pattern panels, clad and windows. The window cladding was installed onto the timber frames at HQ so that they could be erected and joined as easily as a puzzle piece once they arrive in Delamere Forest. This process allowed the units to be built quickly, to the highest quality.
Opening in April 2021, the units are already being booked out and receiving great reviews. While we can take all the credit, we do love to see comments such as “everything was fantastic, lovely, and warm”, indicating that our Passivhaus standards are living up to expectational eco-friendly cabins
Passivhaus standards have allowed us to create eco-friendly units for Delamere Forest Log Cabin Holidays & Breaks that give their guests the greatest comfort while drastically reducing their energy output and consumption.
Through smart design, using Passivhaus standard timber framing, we could build the units to be self-heating and cooling, working with the orientation of the buildings to get optimal use of the environment around them. In this case, 972 hectares of wild forest.
The cabins are well sun-lit to attract warmth while being well protected to avoid getting too hot indoors.
