Kent AECB Local Group held a Passivhaus Open Day on 11 May.

Paul Mallion of Conker Conservation gave a guided tour of a nearly completed Passivhaus Plus project in Herne Bay for the local group and guests. Two tours were given and guests included a number of local councillors, some of whom are newly elected Green Party councillors, and also the shadow leader for Dover DC.

The owners, Wayne and Charlotte, have self-managed the build and carried out the electrical work, airtightness and interior finishing themselves.

They reported that the house has been a comfy stable 18 degrees all year so far, and the heating has not yet been commissioned!

Kent AECB Group activity will reduce for the summer to Green Drinks at the White Hart on the last Weds of the month from 6.30pm.
